On October 13 & 14th, the Marine Protection Area Research Group went to UVic’s Simpson Field Research Station on Cowichan Lake with UBC’s Project Seahorse and SFU’s Marine Ecology group to network and learn from one another, discuss current projects and future prospects, eat delicious food, and do a little hiking.
The weekend was a resounding success! Recent MPARG addition, Hjlamer, donated two wonderful salmon that previous nature guide Nathan cooked to perfection on the fire. Researchers bonded over beautiful views, forest landscapes, and scintillating conversations. Everyone is looking forward to next year’s edition of the event!
